Sumit Mittal, Student Housing Hero

Meet  Sumit. He's a landlord with and  he chooses to rent  to Â鶹ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ students because there's always a demand for student housing in Sault Ste. Marie.

Sumit thinks being a landlord is great because you get an income from rent and can even see  property value go up over time.  He finds that there's always many students looking for housing which means there is little worry about vacancies with his properties. He can  fill properties quickly and  have  a steady stream of rental income.

He likes having positive relationships with the students who rent from him throughout their college year -  they get a stable place to live, and he doesn't have to worry about finding new tenants every year.  Being a landlord comes with responsibility, so some people hire property management  companies such like the one Sumit works for to handle day-to-day operations. It helps take off some pressure.

Highlights of Renting to Students

When Sumit rents to our students, he knows he'll have  consistent demand for his rentals, a lower risk of rental defaults, and can be flexible with lease terms. Sumit finds that being a landlord for students is very rewarding and gives him a chance to build positive relationships with the tenants.  Of course, Sumit has some expectations from his tenants. He wants clear communication, respect for the property and the neighbourhood, and reliable students with good character.

Perks of Â鶹ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Support

Sumit loves that Â鶹ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ has always been supportive of him as a landlord. They give him student recommendations and all the details about what kind of rental the students need. In return, Sumit lets the College know when he has vacancies and his requirements, so they can find him the right tenants.

Â鶹ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ has been great in supporting Sumit as a landlord. They hook him up with student recommendations and all the details about what the students need and expect. In return, he gives them the scoop on his rental vacancies, so they can find him the right tenants. What more can you ask for!
