Jason Bird
Director, Library Services and Research
Jason Bird has an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Windsor and a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Western Ontario. Initially, after his BA Jason worked at Rogers Communications Inc. (RCI), first as a Regulatory Policy Analyst and then as a Marketing Analyst for Rogers Shared Services (RSS). After a few years in the private sector, he went back to school for his MLIS at University of Western Ontario. He has worked as a Business Librarian in a major urban public library, managed over 100 school libraries in a large K-12 school board and is currently Director of Library Services and Research at Â鶹ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾. Jason oversees all library services, student cards, copyright, research administration, research data management, applied research, archives, and simulation. He has presented at various conferences and symposiums regarding library programming, copyright, collection development, succession planning and management of library services. Additionally, Jason recently managed and oversaw the complete renovation of the Â鶹ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Library, modernizing it from its 1970s origin to today.
Paul Larsen
Automation Project Manager
Paul Larsen is the Automation Project Manager at Â鶹ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ with over 8 years of robotics and over 25 years of automation experience in Canada, Egypt, Switzerland, UK, and USA. His resume includes 10 US, Germany, and China patents in hydroform development while working at General Motors’ Global Validation Lab. He designed performance automation systems for Ford Motor Co Cleveland engine casting plant, Chrysler Indianapolis gray iron foundry, Honda Asama Coldwater Manufacturing, US EPA Casting Emissions Reduction Program, and the University of Huddersfield/UK Centre for Textile Excellence. Paul is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering. He was a part-time professor of robotics at Â鶹ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾, is married, and has a rescued dog named Comet.
Rhonda Davies
Business Development Officer
Rhonda Davies is Â鶹ÊÓƵÍøվ’s Business Development Officer and is a Â鶹ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Alumni of the Computer Engineering Technology program. She has experience in help desk, web design/maintenance, database administration and social media marketing, with over 20 years of professional accomplishments. She is also a licensed Private Investigator and Security Guard, and carries a certificate of Recognition (COR) for First Aid and CPR, Mental Health First Aid and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills program. Additional work includes being author of science fiction/mystery novels and has self-published 3 novels to date. She is a proud supporter of Intellectual Property (IP), Commercialization and Equity Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) policies. This is evident in her passion of promoting better productivity and safer workplaces in industries she works with daily.
